Daring and dashing and just when you need him, he’s there,
I’ve tried to write this blog post in a cohesive manner like six times – and revised it way more than that – so please forgive me if this makes absolutely no sense to the average reader!
Let me try and explain myself in a few words…
Looking back on it though the photos I had taken through October and November, I made some big changes that paved the way for the future. I got rid of my 3D printer, which was a hobby of mine for almost 9 years. There’s many reasons why I decided to part with printing plastic – but it basically boils down to the same creeping crisis that’s been looming on my mind a lot lately:
I’m 29 in December. All illusions of being young are out the window as of right now!
This on it’s own is enough for most people to deal with, but I was panicking in the bath and realised…
That means I’m 39 in ten years time.
Argh!
This means I’m wearing my cringe on my sleeve nowadays, As all my references are already getting lost on people, I’m going to push for the creative projects that I have tucked away in my head.
Wired Wrong is a song by my favourite childhood band who I’ve mentioned in my previous blogs, Steam Powered Giraffe. The song isn’t great by today’s standards, and yes, it’s a bit cringe, but it’s 11 years old at least, so please, give it the benefit of Time. You weren’t there, man!
A stylized sculpt of The Spine from Steam Powered Giraffe. I’m going to make a proper page about this!
I also want to do more projects like this. If you’re interested in hiring me for sculpts for live events works – Hit me up!
Other things that happened over these last few months…
- I got REALLY into Two Point Museum, a museum simulator game. I just checked my steam and I’ve currently clocked 46 hours at the time of writing. No regrets. Museum is life.
- Rosie and I have also really got into Jet Lag – The Game… we’ve gone through nine seasons of these YouTubers using the planet as gameboards for a myriad of challenges – Tag across Europe, Capture the Flag in Japan, etc…
- We’ve been to two (and a half!) gigs! Rosie saw Haim (I couldn’t get a ticket, so was blasting through Two Point Museum in a Manchester hotel room..), Together we saw Lorde and CMAT recently. It’s really solidified that I want to go work on live productions. If you think you can help with this… You know how to get in touch!
- Probably consequential to this – We are now both ill. So that’s fun.
Notch related things that have happened:
- I attempted to do Nodevember for a short period of time. Unfortunately, This year, a myriad of real life circumstances got in the way. I’m hoping this won’t happen next year!
I’m particularly proud of this one, which uses brand new nodes – Image Distance and an update to Dither. The music in these have been made by the magnificent Waxapul – Who has been absolutely lovely, and able to pair my visuals with the exact right sounds they need. It’s amazing!

If you’re a musician and your work is crying out for visuals, let’s chat! I usually make small loops and little tidbits. I’d love to generate a community around these.
Inspired by a perspective based room I saw go viral online – I’ve prototyped one myself!
